Are you not getting your fill of competition from this year’s Olympic Games? You’re in luck! The 79th annual National Truck Driving Championships and National Step Van Driving Championships are starting up today in Indianapolis, Indiana!
More than 430 truck drivers from across the country will be competing for their chance to be named the 2016 Bendix National Truck Driving Championships Grand Champion.
The drivers will compete in three phases of competition: Pre-trip inspection, a written exam, and driving section with an obstacle course including tight turns.
The competition wraps up on Saturday, August 13th when a new champion will be crowned. Awards will also be given to drivers representing every class of vehicle, as well as to the top drivers from each state.
The current champion is Ronald Emenheiser Sr, a driver for Walmart from Yorkana, Pennsylvania.
