This week’s Driver Spotlight is on Larry Hunt (Tractor 684)

Larry has been a part of the Pohl Transportation Family since 2006; he has over 25 years of experience overall. When he was younger, he always knew he wanted to be a truck driver, so he went to trucking school. He first started with Pohl over 25 years ago, then moved around a bit. Larry is from the area, so he always knew about Pohl. Larry also mentioned that he owns a small business that makes t-shirts, decals, and embroidery. They mostly specialize in Jeep or motorcycles, but will do just about anything.

Some changes that Larry has seen in his years of driving is, major improvements in the trucks. From the 1970’s to today, Larry says it’s like driving a Cadillac and not a truck. He also said he does not use his CB radio much anymore, so he got rid of it. The best improvement in technology that Larry likes is being able to use Google maps where you can see where you’re going, entrances, and any parking, is a huge help. Larry talked about things that he loves about Pohl, that they always get him home and he loves his home time. They take care of personal needs and home time if you communicate with dispatch.

Some advice that Larry would like to give to current, new, and potential drivers is to always keep your head on a swivel and be proactive while driving. He said his favorite snack on the road is to grab a bag of combos!

Thank you, Larry, for being a part of the Pohl Transportation Family.
