Derek joined the Pohl Transportation Family in January of 2026 after seeing our ad on Driver Pulse.  

Derek has seen many changes in the trucking industry, with the biggest being the changes in technology. Derek has spent his driving career using ELDs. He likes to use Google Maps and road signs for navigation and loves driving a Volvo. Derek enjoys working for Pohl because we have friendly customers.  

Some advice that Derek would like to give to current, new, and potential drivers is to have patience and go the speed limit. Derek’s favorite restaurant to eat at is anywhere with tacos. His favorite homecooked meal is lasagna and his favorite snack to grab on the go is an apple.
