Ernie has been with Pohl Transportation for a year now, but has been driving OTR since 2007. Before getting his CDL, Ernie worked at the Longaberger Basket Company in Newark for 20 years.

In his spare time Ernie likes to hunt, fish, watch dirt track races and raise and care for a 1 ½ acre garden. Ernie enjoys tending the garden and eating the fresh produce. Ernie doesn’t consider it work because he enjoys watching it grow and sharing the “fruits of his labor” with his friends, family and neighbors. Ernie has 2 busy daughters that he enjoys spending time with when he can.

Growing up, Ernie’s dad was in the Army, so as a family they moved around to many different places. Ernie’s favorite place their family was stationed in was Alaska. Ernie has been to every state but Hawaii, and would like to make a trip there some day.
